Snap Action Bimetal

Thermostat Applications

The snap action thermostat with immediate operation is used in those applications where the temperature of the device heated electrically must be selected and adjusted by the user beforehand, as in the case of electrical irons, deep fryers, electrical heaters or water heaters.

Operation

The temperature is adjusted by the rotation of the device's axis. When the desired temperature is reached, the contacts are quickly opened due to the deflection of the bimetallic strip, interrupting the circuit's power supply. When the temperature drops, the contacts are closed and the circuit starts to operate again. These types of thermostats are used in appliances with a very quick temperature response.
